Charles E. Collins age 82 passed away Monday June 23, 2008 at the Deaconess Hospital in Evansville after a short illness.

 

Charles was born May 18, 1926 in Dale IN to Everett and Ruby (Lee) Collins.

 

He was a retired Clerk for the A.W.W. Railroad. 

Charles was a veteran of U.S. Navy serving in WW II. He was member of the V.F.W. Post 1147. He enjoyed all types of music, playing the organ, playing cards and watching baseball.

He is survived by a daughter, Patricia (
Wayne) Scott, Owensville; two sons, Joe (Tammy Hart) Collins, Anderson, IN and Richard Collins, AZ; four grandchildren, Christopher Scott, Scot Wright, Shannon McCoy, Kimberly Hack; two brothers, Dale Collins and Morris Collins; and a special friend, Fonda Wilkerson, Princeton

Charles was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 44 years, Margaret (Burns) Collins in 1991; a daughter, Volah J. Wright; son, Mark E. Collins; brothers, Robert, Don and Norman Collins; sisters, Shirley McDaniel and Wanda Beckman; and a grandson Michael Wright. 

Funeral services will be held at
2 p.m. Thursday June 26, 2008 at the Colvin Funeral Home with Pastor Keith Wooden officiating. Burial will follow in the Columbia "White" Church Cemetery. V.F.W. Post 1147 will conduct military graveside services.

 

Visitation will be from 12 p.m. until service time on Thursday.
