Richard L. Carter, 77, of Princeton passed away Monday, February 26, 2007 at the Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, IN.

 

He was born December 12, 1929 in Carmi, IL to J. B. & Goldie (Hollerbach) Carter who preceded him in death. 

He has lived for the past 71 years in the
Princeton area moving here from Carmi, IL. He was a life member of the Prince Lodge #231 F & AM, a member of the Golden Fleece Chapter #176 OES, Princeton Elks #634, and the VFW Men’s Aux. 

Richard held the longest membership at the Princeton Country Club, being an active member for over 50 years. He was a member of the
Hillside United Methodist Church and had worked at Potter and Brumfield for 28 years retiring in 1987 as a production control supervisor. 

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Margery (Kimbrough) Carter; 2 sons & daughter-in-law, Wayne & Jan Carter of Ft. Branch, & Alan Carter of Indianapolis; 1 daughter & son-in-law, Melinda & Charles Reed of Princeton; 8 grandchildren, 6 step-grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, & 9 step-great-grandchildren; sister & brother-in-law, Dortha Mae & Kenneth Fortner of Princeton. 

Funeral services will be held on
Thursday, March 1, 2007 at 10 A.M. at the Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton with Rev. Jarmon Perkins officiating. Burial will be at Columbia White Church Cemetery.

 

Friends may visit Wednesday from 4 until 8 p.m. at Colvin Funeral Home. There will be Masonic services by Prince #231 at 7 P.M. on Wednesday.
