Dale Bruce, age 82, passed
away on Monday September 12, 2005 at the Good Samaritan Home in Oakland City.
He was born in Selvin, Indiana on January 20, 1923 to Roy & Pearl (Powers) Bruce, both deceased. He lived in Selvin until 1939, moving to Princeton, where he attended and graduated from Princeton High
School in
1940.
Retiring in 1988, Mr. Bruce was a construction electrician with IBEW Local 16
for 46 years. He was 9th Air Force Veteran with the 34th photo-recon, serving
in France and Germany during WWII.
He was a member of the Patoka Methodist Church, a Charter member of the VFW #1147,
he served on Appeals Board several years, and was active in the Salvation Army.
He was a Master Mason and a member of the Scottish Rite.
He belonged to the Senior Citizens in Oakland City.
Survivors include his wife of
58 years, Norma Jean (Comer) Bruce of Princeton; son and daughter-in-law, Bryce
and Nancy Bruce of Princeton; daughter and son-in-law, Kristina and James Settle
of Oakland City; 2 grandsons, David Bruce and Heath Settle; 1
granddaughter, Haley Jean Settle.
Funeral Services will be held
at 2:00 PM on Thursday September 15, 2005 at the Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton with the Rev. Greg Davis officiating. Burial will be in the Montgomery Cemetery in Oakland City.
Friends may call from 3:30 until 8 PM
on Wednesday at the Colvin Funeral Home. VFW #1147 will conduct military
graveside services at the cemetery.
