Eugene L."Gene"
Brown, 86, passed away on Monday September 3, 2007 at the River Oaks Health Campus in Princeton.
Gene was a product engineer
at Potter & Brumfield for 32 years, retiring in 1983. He was a member of
the First General Baptist Church in Princeton. He was a WWII Veteran, serving in the Army as a
Sergeant in the 303rd Infantry, 97th Division.
He was born on May 19, 1921 in Poole, Kentucky to Lawrence & Sarah (Duckworth) Brown, both
deceased. Also preceding him in death were his brothers & sisters, Edna, Dalphon, Dallas, George and Mary Brown.
Eugene is survived by his wife of 53 years, Irma Jean Brown;
daughter & son-in-law, Abigail & James Downey of Bloomington, Indiana; 2 sons, David Anderson of Cedar Rapids, Iowa and Glenn Brown of Glen Ellyn, Illinois; 4 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; and 2
brothers, Lawrence D. Brown Jr. of Henderson, Kentucky and Buster F. Brown of Frankfort, Kentucky.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM
on Friday
September 7, 2007 at the
Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton with the Pastor John Stepp
officiating. Burial will be at the Owensville Cemetery.
Friends may visit from 11 AM until service time on Friday at the funeral home. VFW
Post #1147 will conduct military graveside services.
