Denzel D. Brown, 78, passed away Monday, Aug. 16, 2005 at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home, in Oakland City. 

She was born near Mackey to William and Alice (Kohlmeier) Strickland, and had lived a lifetime in Mackey. 

She was a member of the Mackey Church of the Nazarene and had been the Mackey town clerk for 25 years. 

She is survived by two sons, Mike Brown, of Old Hickory, Tenn. and Greg Brown, of Circleville, Ohio; a brother, Marvin Strickland, of Mackey; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. 

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Mackey Church of the Nazarene, with the Rev. Bill Reed officiating. Burial will be in the Townsley Cemetery, near Mackey. 

Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Corn-Colvin Funeral Home, in Oakland City, and from 8 a.m. until service time Thursday at the church.
