Ronald Broadhurst, 87, passed away on Sunday September 10, 2006 at Gibson General Hospital in Princeton.

 

Ronald retired from Potter & Brumfield in 1987, as a cost estimator supervisor, after 32 years. He also served in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of the VFW #1147, American Legion #25, former member of the Princeton Elks and Eagles. He was one of the founders of the Princeton Little League (where he was a coach for 16 years). The 1959 Little League Team was one of the state finalists. He was a lifetime fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and was a member of the Knott Hole Gang of St. Louis 

He was born on
May 18, 1919 in East St. Louis, Illinois to Noah H. & Bessie (McWilliams) Broadhurst, both deceased. Also preceding him in death were his three brothers, Morris & Buddy Broadhurst and Jack McWilliams. 

Ronald is survived by his wife of 66 years, Norma Broadhurst of Princeton; 4 children and their spouses, Ronald & Libby Broadhurst of Frederick, Md., Mark & Karen Broadhurst of Mt. Airy, Md., Jane Ann Truelock of Princeton, and Linda Riley of Owensville; 13 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; brother, Joe Broadhurst of Ft. Smith, Ar.; several nieces and nephews. 

Funeral Services will be held at
12:00 noon on Thursday September 14, 2006 at the Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton with the Rev. Gary Arnold officiating. Burial will be at the Columbia White Church Cemetery in Princeton.

 

Friends may call from 10 AM until service time on Thursday at the funeral home. VFW Post #1147 will conduct military graveside services.
