Ruth Irene Brittingham, 98 passed away Saturday, September 15, 2007 at the Gibson General Hospital Skilled Care Unit in Princeton.
She was the only 80-year plus
alumnus of the Mt. Olympus High
School. She
was a great historian and could tell you the history of the Wheeling and Oatsville communities.
Ruth was born August 6, 1909 to Charlie & Cordelia
(Belcher) Roberts, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by her
husband, Ottis Brittingham
in 1997; a son, George Edmond Brittingham; and a
grandson, Mark Brittingham.
She is survived by her 4 sons, Rob Roy of Columbus, SC, Ray Ross of Oatsville; Joe of New Port Richey, FL, and Bert Alan Brittingham of Francisco; 3 daughters, Bonnie Marie Huff of
Hardinsburg, IN, Vivory Brewer of Oakland City, and
Betty Louise McDowell of Springfield, TN; 18 grandchildren; 35 great
grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday September 19, 2007 at 10:00 AM at Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton. Burial
will be at the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
Friends may visit from 4
until 8 PM on Tuesday at the funeral home.
