James Nolan Barclay, 83, of Bridgeport, Illinois passed away Thursday, October 4, 2007 at the Lawrence County Memorial Hospital in Lawrenceville, Illinois.
He worked in construction for
50 years. He was a U.S. Army veteran, earning a Purple Heart, Bronze Star and
an Oak Leaf Cluster. He was a member of the First Christian Church of Bridgeport. He was a 54-year member of the Reed Masonic Lodge of
Evansville and a member of the Scottish Rite Valley of Evansville. He also was
a member of the Moose Lodge in Brandon, FL.
James was born June 25, 1924 in Evansville, Indiana to Arvel and Merlie (Miller) Barclay, both deceased. He is also preceded
in death by his wife, Mary Ann Barclay in 2004; 2 sons, Gregory and Shane
Barclay; and 1 stepson, Bradley Lannan.
He is survived by his stepson, Glenn (Dawn) Lannan of
Tampa, FL; stepdaughter, Sherry (Oliver) Dotson of Valrico, FL; 4 step
grandchildren, Valerie Lannan of Tampa, FL, Derek
Delgado of FL, Dennis (Jachelle) Dotson of Port
Richey, FL, and Angela (Barry) Michael of Valrico, FL; 8 step-great
grandchildren, Alexis, Brianna, Derek III, Peyton, Maranda,
Hannah, Kaitlynn and Mason; 2 brothers-in-law, James
(Betty) Meyer of Bridgeport, IL; and Jack (Darlene) Meyer of Anderson, IN.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 8, 2007 at 2 PM
at the Corn-Colvin Funeral Home in Oakland City, IN with the Rev. Bill Cox officiating. Burial will be at
the Barnett Chapel Cemetery in Lynnville with military graveside services.
Friends may visit Monday from
12:30 PM until service time at Corn-Colvin Funeral Home.
