C. Avis Alvis,
89, of Princeton, died at 3:32 p.m. Friday, Dec. 31, 2004 at the Waters of Princeton. She was born in Francisco
Jan.
18, 1915.
She had retired from Potter and Brumfield in 1977, after working there for 29
years. She attended the Hillside United Methodist Church and was a member of the Eagles Auxiliary and the VFW
Ladies Auxiliary.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rudolph Alvis,
in 1994; her parents, James O. and Lottie (Street)
Belcher; sisters, Alice Burns, Irene Evans and Carrie Hogg; and a brother,
James "Red" Belcher.
She is survived by a brother, Frank Belcher, of Princeton, and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 10 a.m.
Tuesday at Atkinson Chapel Cemetery, with the Rev. Craig Duke officiating. Final
disposition will at Atkinson Chapel Cemetery. There will be no visitation at Colvin Funeral Home,
which is in charge of arrangements. Family and friends will gather at the
funeral home at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday.
