Sanford Thompson

  MOUNT OLYMPUS -- Sanford R. Thompson, 79, died Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2002, at Gibson General Hospital in Princeton.

  He retired after more than 50 years of farming.

  He was a World War II Navy veteran and member of Union Bethel Presbyterian Church.

  Surviving are his wife, Dolores June; a daughter, Sharon Wallis of Wheaton, Ill.; a son, Jim of Princeton; two sisters, Loupheoba Bilderback of Princeton and Lavon Schoultz of Newburgh; and four grandchildren, Matthew and Benjamin Wallis and Christopher and Katelyn Thompson.

  Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Colvin Funeral Home, with burial in Shiloh Cemetery.

  Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
