Edgar R. Rutledge, 84, of Mackey, IN entered rest on Monday June 30, 2008 at 8:25 P.M at Gateway Deaconess Hospital in Newburgh, IN.

He was born on May 25, 1924 in Lima Ohio to Joseph and Mary (Evers) Rutledge.

He retired from Fendricks-Bernardin in Evansville, IN in 1989.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Clara Houtz; half brother, Robert Rutledge; and grandson, Jason R. McCullough.

He was a member of Berean Bible Church in Evansville where he served as Deacon and Board member; he also attended Mackey Salem United Methodist Church.

Surviving family members: His wife of 59 years, the former Evelyn Schnarr Rutledge; daughters, Theresa A. (Ron) Frantz of Mackey, IN, Joyce A. (Bob) Wicks of Elberfeld, IN; grandsons, Zachary P. Frantz and Adam J. Frantz; great grandchild, KyahRenee’Frantz; brother, Richard Rutledge of Bethlehem, Penn.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 on Thursday July 3, 2008 at Lamb-Basham Memorial Chapel in Oakland City, with burial in Albright Cemetery near Mackey, IN, Rev. Matt Malin will officiate.

Visitation will be Wednesday 5:00-8:00 P.M. and from 8:00 A.M. until services on Thursday at the chapel.
