Mable U. Deen Ross, 78, of Winslow, IN entered rest on Wednesday October 3, 2007 at 12:25 P.M. at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, IN.

She was born on July 7, 1929 in Gibson County to Arthur and Blossom (McQuary) McDevitt.

She was member of Mt. Pisgah General Baptist Church in Augusta and a member of Winslow Order of Eastern Star Chapter 391 and was a retired Spurgeon Postmaster.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Carl E. Deen and Marvin Ross; sisters, Wilma Jo Gillespie, Maxine Comer; and brother Walter McDevitt.

Surviving family members: Three daughters, Pat and husband Jon McCandless of Sevierville, Tenn., Tanya Vaughn of Stendal, IN, Dianne and husband Bill Knight of Augusta, IN; step children, Linda and husband Larry Luff of Stendal, IN, David and wife Karol Ross of Texas; sister, Geraldine Roberson of Frankfort, IN; grandchildren, Kim Hutcheson, Eddie McCandless, Stacy McCandless, Matt Vaughn, Kristy Forbes and Jeff Knight; step-grandchildren, Mark Luff, Bryan Luff, Brandi Kabrick, Carrah Anson; 32 great grandchildren.

Funeral service is at 1:00 P.M Saturday October 6, 2007 at Lamb-Basham Memorial Chapel in Oakland City, with burial in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery near Winslow, IN, Rev. Josh Luker will officiate.

Visitation from 4:00-8:00 P.M.Friday and from 8:00 A.M.until services on Saturday at the Chapel.
