Everett “Bob” Robertson, 86, of Oakland City, IN passed away on Tuesday April 4, 2006 at 6:10 A.M. at his son’s home.
He was born on March 3, 1920 in Princeton, IN to Everett Sr. and Hazel “Prentice” Robertson.
He was preceded in death by his wife Helen on
May
4, 2004.
He was a World War II veteran in the Merchant
Marines, a member of American Legion Post #256, Petersburg V.F.W. Post, Oakland
City Eagles Lodge, Amvets,
U.M.W.A. Local 5179. He was mayor of Oakland City for 12 years, Columbia Township Trustee for 16 years,
and was Justice of Peace in Princeton, IN; he was also given the Sagamore
of Wabash.
Surviving are sons, Jeff Robertson of Oakland City, IN, Sonny Robertson of Evansville, IN, Happy Robertson
of San Antonio, Texas, Ronnie Reinsinger of Carmi,
IL; daughter, Diane Davis of Indianapolis, IN: step sons, Gary Hunt of Oakland City, IN, Taylor Hunt of Princeton, IN, John Hunt of Princeton, IN; special caregiver, Susanne Robertson; thirteen grandchildren;
seventeen great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Friday April 7, 2006
at 10:30 A.M. Lamb-Basham Memorial Chapel in Oakland City, burial in Montgomery
Cemetery, Rev. Frank McCandless officiating.
Visitation will be 4:00-8:00 P.M.on Thursday and from 8:00 A.M. until services on Friday at the chapel.
