OAKLAND
CITY-- Richard L. Poehlein, 68, of Winslow, died Saturday, March 24, 2001, at Wirth
Regional Hospital in Oakland City.
He
was born May 26, 1932, in Winslow, to Ernest J. and Eldena (Barnett) Poehlein.
He
graduated from Winslow High School in 1951 and Oakland City College in 1960.
He
served in the U.S. Army.
He
was retired from the Whirlpool Corporation after 21 years and was a supervisor
at Old Ben Coal Company for 21 years.
He
was a member of the Hadi Shrine and Pike County Bird Hunters Club. He was an
avid bird and coon hunter and Bobby Knight fan.
Surviving
are his wife of 48 years, Donna Poehlein; a son, Greg of Winslow; a daughter,
Cindy Bailey of Winslow; two sisters, Edwina Dawson of Petersburg and Marjorie
Hart of Michigan City; and five grandchildren, Lincoln and Levi Poehlein; and
Kelly, Kaya and Kinzy Bailey.
Funeral
services were held at 10 a.m. Monday, March 26 at Lamb-Basham Memorial Chapel
in Oakland City. The Rev. Terry Beadles officiated.
Burial
was in Williams Cemetery near Oakland City.
