Lucy E. Nixon, 71, of Oakland City, IN entered eternal rest on Tuesday December 12, 2006 at 6:52 P.M. at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, IN.

She was born on May 11, 1935 in Pike Co, IN to Elza and Themus (Wade) Parke.

She was the retired publisher of Hoosier Parent Magazine in Evansville, IN.

She was preceded in death by her father, Elza in 1962; mother, Themus Parke in 1987; sister and brother-in-law Maxine Nelson in 1986 and Ronald Nelson in 2005; brother, Charles Floyd Parke in 1998; sister and brother-in-law, Juanita Smith in 2003 and Frank Smith in 1976; brothers, Warren Parke in 2003 and Kenneth Parke 2006; bother-in-law, Charles Nixon in 2000; son-in-law, Eric D. Morgan in 2005.

Surviving is her husband of 50 years James H. Nixon; children, Ann Morgan of Mackey, IN, Greg (Patty) Nixon of Newburgh, IN, Brett Nixon of Evansville, IN, Tammy (John) LaGrange of Santa Claus, IN; grandchildren, Jason, Kirsten. Alex (Poody) and Bucky Morgan, Wade and Nea and Kyle Nixon, Josh Lagrange, Alicia Roth, Danielle and Kaebra LaGrange, Valerie Goldman; step grandchildren, Rachel Fruit and Ryan Fruit; four great grandchildren; brothers, P.G. Parke and Bill (Judy) Parke of Oakland City, IN, E. Wayne (Karen) Parke of Evansville, IN; sisters, Norma (Ellis) Williams of Lyons, IN, Pauline (Horace) Tyler of West Lafayette, IN, Sharon (Don) Falls and Patty (Don) Pflug all Oakland City, IN; sister-in-law, Joyce Parke of Oakland City, IN.

Funeral services will be Monday December 18, 2006 10:00 A.M. at Good Shepherd United Methodist Church, Rev. Josh LaGrange and Dr. Douglas Low officiating, with burial in Montgomery Cemetery.

Visitation will be Sunday December 17, 2006 from 2:00-7:00 P.M. at Lamb-Basham Memorial Chapel, and from 8:00 A.M. until services on Monday at the church.
