Ronald W. Nelson, 83, of Oakland City, IN passed away on Sunday June 12, 2005 at 2:50 P.M at Columbia Healthcare Center in Evansville, IN.

He was born on July 12, 1921 in Oatsville, IN to Chester and Nina (Wells) Nelson.

He was preceded in death by his wife Maxine Nelson in 1986.

He was a member of Good Shepherd United Methodist Church in Oakland City, IN and F.&A.M. Masonic Lodge # 467 in Oakland City.

He retired as a School Teacher after 38 years at East Gibson School Corporation and had taught 2 years at Ireland School.

Survivors include: daughter, Connie Beck of Oakland City, IN; son, Steven Nelson of Ft. Branch, IN; grandchildren, Jeff Beck of Princeton, IN, Sam Wartell of Washington, D.C., Ashley Nelson and Willie Nelson both of Ft. Branch, IN

Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday June 15, 2005 at Good Shepherd United Methodist Church, burial in Montgomery Cemetery with Dr. Bob Doane and Dr. Douglas Low officiating.

Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 P.M. Tuesday at Lamb-Basham Memorial Chapel and from 9:00 A.M. until services on Wednesday at the Church.

Oakland City F.&A.M. Lodge will conduct memorial services on Wednesday at 7:00 P.M. Military graveside services will be conducted by Oakland City American Legion Post #256.
