Lewis R. “Lewie” Myers, 77, of Oakland City, Ind. Died Thursday September 30, 2004 at 10:47 A.M. at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Evansville, Ind.

He was born on September 2, 1927 in Frichton, Ind. to Leonard & Elizabeth (Snyder) Myers.

He was a member of Oakland City Eagles Lodge and S.A.L at Oakland City American Legion Post # 256; he also was a professional truck driver for 52 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a son Charles Arnold.

Survivors include his wife of 40 years the former Ruth Ellen (Wilson) Myers; a son, Mark Arnold of Francisco, Ind.; daughters, Vickie Bates of Mt. Vernon, Ill., Sandy Harmon, Margaret Vieck, and Janet Kitchin all of Vincennes, Ind.; a sister, Lenora Liming, Hammond,Ind.; nine grandchildren; five great grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be Monday, October 2, 2004 at 2:00 P.M. at Lamb-Basham Memorial Chapel, Rev. Rodney E. Walls officiating, burial in Mt. Zion Cemetery near Monroe City, Ind.

Visitation will be Sunday from 3:00-8:00 P.M. and from 8:00 A.M. until services on Monday at the Chapel .
