Velma L. (Sturgeon) Moore, 83, of Oakland City, IN entered rest on Monday March 17, 2008 at 10:00 P.M. at Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Oakland City, IN.

She was born on October 31, 1924 in Oakland City, IN to George and Chloe (Richardson) Sturgeon.

She was a member of First General Baptist Church in Oakland City and American Family Association.

She was preceded in death by husband Kenneth Moore on October 20, 1997.

Surviving family members include: Sons, Ronald Chris Moore of Ft. Branch, IN, Dr. Noel Timothy Moore of Ft. Wayne, IN; daughters, Jeanne Elaine Emerson of Austin, Texas, Marilyn Annette Moore of Indianapolis, IN; sister, Mary Jo McDaniel of Princeton, IN; grandchildren, Heidi Moore, Adam Moore, Heather Moore, Emma Moore, Megan Emerson, Nicholas Emerson.

Funeral services will be Friday March 21, 2008 11:30 A.M. at Lamb-Basham Memorial Chapel, burial in Montgomery Cemetery. Dr. Douglas Low will officiate.

Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 P.M. Thursday and from 8:00 A.M. until services on Friday.
