Robert Maikranz, 78, of Ft. Branch, IN entered rest on Wednesday December 19, 2007 at 12:10 P.M. at Gibson General Hospital in Princeton, IN.

He was born May 6, 1929 in Evansville, IN to Victor and Hilda (Martin) Maikranz.

He was an Air Force Veteran and member of Somerville American Legion Post.  He retired from Whirlpool Corp, after 33 years of service and was also a retired farmer.  He was a member of Providence Primitive Baptist Church where he was a deacon.  He was awarded the Conservation Farmer of year in 1988.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Kenneth Maikranz; and sister, Lois Morgan.

Surviving are his wife of 55 years Joana Maikranz; daughters, Janet (Carl) Shomate of Oakland City, IN, Marcia (Garry) Hall of Ft. Branch, IN; grandchildren, Dustin and Donovan Hall; sister, Mara Lou Williams of Pinckneyville, Ill.; grothers, Bill (Marion) Maikranz of Evansville,IN and Victor “DarvinMaikranz of Princeton, IN.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 10:00A.M., December 22, 2007 at Lamb-Basham Memorial Chapel in Oakland City, with burial in Providence Cemetery near Francisco, IN, Bro: George Jolly officiating.

Visitation will be Friday from 4:00-8:00P.M and from 8:00 A.M. until services on Saturday at the chapel.
