Barbara Louise “Howerton” Jones, 93, of Tell City, IN entered eternal rest on Wednesday Dec. 14, 2005 at Scenic Hills Care Center in Ferdinand, IN.

She was born on April 15, 1912 in Depauw, IN to David and Elizabeth (Elliott) Howerton.

She was a member of St. Isadore Catholic Church in Bristow, IN.

She married Everitt Jones on Dec. 12, 1934 in Cannelton, IN and he preceded her in death on November 1, 1985; she was also preceded death by an infant daughter Betty; brothers, Clarence and Bill Gates, David and Albert Howerton; sisters, Edna Martin, Gertrude Stout, Mattie Buehler; a grandson Bill Heichelbech; and a great grandson Josh Sutton.

Surviving two daughters and son-in-laws: Mary Alice and Silas Heichelbech of Ferdinand, IN, Barbara and J.C. Basham of Tell City, IN; son and daughter-in-law, David and Millie Jones of St. Meinrad, IN; a son: Bob Sutton of Charlestown, IN; a sister-in-law, Lorene Howerton, of Louisville, KY; grandchildren, Mike Sutton and Pam Morgan of Tell City, IN, Jackie Bockelman of Jasper, IN, Elizabeth Basham of Tell City, IN, Jerry Lee Basham of Oakland City, IN, Jeff Jones of Evansville, IN, Gary Jones of Jasper, IN, Steve Jones of Louisville, KY, Johnna Madley of Eckerty, IN; thirteen great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; several nieces and nephews

A Funeral Mass will be Monday December 19, 2005 at 1:00 P.M. at St. Isadore Catholic Church in Bristow, IN, burial in church cemetery, Rev. Guy Mansini OSB will officiate .

Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 P.M. Sunday December 18, 2005, and from 10:00 A.M. until 11:30 A.M. Monday at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home. A prayer service will be conducted at 7:00 P.M. Sunday evening at the funeral home.
