Ruth Ella “Powers” Johnstone, 87, of Oakland City, IN passed away on Wednesday June 1, 2005 12:20 P.M. at River Oaks Health Campus in Princeton, IN.

She was born on July 3, 1917 in Oakland City, IN to Walter and Bertha “Rough” Powers.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and Violet Eastern Star Chapter # 158 in Victoria, Texas; and was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her husband Alexander on Feb. 3, 1990.

Surviving are sons, Alexander Johnstone Jr. of Beech Grove, IL and Thomas Ray Johnstone of Oakland City, IN; five grandchildren; two step grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Saturday June, 4, 2005, 10:30 A.M. at Lamb-Basham Memorial Chapel, burial in Montgomery Cemetery, Dr. Douglas Low officiating.

Visitation from 4:00-8:00 P.M. Friday and from 8:00 A.M. until services on Saturday at the chapel.
