James C. ”Jim” Hopkins, 72, of Madisonville, KY, formerly of Oakland City, IN entered rest on Sunday August 26, 2007 at 2:00P.M. at his son’s residence in Madisonville, KY.

He was born on September 30, 1934 in Waukegan IL to Floyd and Cheryle (Slamp) Hopkins.   He retired from A.M.F. Potter-Brumfield and Siemens in 1997.

He was a very involved in his church, Hanson United Methodist Church; and loved horses.

Surviving is wife of 53 years the former Betty (Cox) Hopkins; son, Roger (Ellie) Cox of Madisonville, KY; daughters, Ruth (Hugh) Wirth of Oakland City, IN and Roxanne (Joe) Davis of Boonville; grandchildren, Andy and Melanie Hopkins, Ryan and Dane Osborne, Crystal and Brooke Wirth; step-grandchildren, Andrea Wirth, Jennifer and Jamie Maikranz, Mason and Coby Davis, Abby Roy; one great-grandchild, Rylee Jo Roxanne Osborne; brother, Eldon Hopkins of Newburgh, IN.

Funeral services will be Wednesday August 29, 2007 at 10:00 A.M. at Lamb-Basham Memorial Chapel in Oakland City, IN, with Dr .Ora Johnson and Rev. Scott Milby officiating.  Burial will be in Forsythe Cemetery near Oakland City, IN.

Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 P.M Tuesday and from 8:00 A.M.until services at the chapel.
