Vincent Georges, 80, of Ft. Branch, IN passed away on Sunday July 17, 2005 9:40 A.M. at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, Indiana.

He was born July 25, 1924 on the Georges Homestead in rural Ft. Branch to Victor and Amanda (Kemper) Georges.

He was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Oakland City, IN, CARR (Citizens for Appropriate Rural Roads), NFO (National Farmers Organizations), American Corn Growers Association, State and National Holstein Association, NRA (National Rifle Association,) Dubois County Dairy Herd Improvement Association, and the South West Holstein Club. Vince started attending John Deere days in 1937, he attended 68 consecutive years.  His love for the green and yellow is visible on the farm with his implements and tractors.

He was preceded in death by a brother and sister-in-law Roy and Mary Georges, and a daughter-in-law Karen Georges.

He is survived by wife of 59 years former Betty Ruth (May) Georges; four sons, Roger and wife Gloria Jean Georges of Lynnville, IN, Ronald and wife Charlet Georges of Elberfeld, IN, Richard Georges and Ruben Georges of Ft. Branch, IN; daughters, Tanya and husband Charles Gries of Alvaton, KY, Victoria and husband Jeffrey Martin of Ft. Branch, IN; sister Lillian Kiesel of Indianapolis, IN; (16) grandchildren (26) great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Thursday July 21, 2005 at 9:15 A.M. at Lamb-Basham Memorial Chapel in Oakland City, continued at 10:00 A.M. at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Fr. Dave Fleck , Fr. Tony Ernst and Fr. Paul Ferguson officiating with burial in St. Bernard’s Cemetery in Snake Run, IN.

Visitation will be on Wednesday July 20 from 2:00-9:00 P.M. and from 8:00 A.M. until 9:15 A.M. on Thursday at the Chapel.  Memorial service will be conducted at 7:30 P.M. on Wednesday at the chapel.
