Genevieve Cochren,
98, of Chambrel at Club Hill in Garland Texas ,
formerly of Oakland City, In. passed away on Monday at Lake Pointe Medical Center in Rowlett, Texas.
She was born on Nov. 12, 1906 in Oakland City to Ray and Lillian (Jenkins) Cockrum.
She graduated from Oakland City High
School and
spent most of her life in Oakland City where she has been a commercial photographer. She was
a member of Good Shepherd United Methodist Church for 83 years, and the Oakland City Chapter of Eastern
Star for 77 years. She also founded the local chapter of the Rainbow Girls and
was active for 35 years on the state and local levels, and was Mother Advisor
for over 50 years
She was preceded in death by husband Roy in January 8, 1992.
Surviving are a son Don and wife Jan Cochren of Dallas,
Texas. Five
grandchildren: Chris, Diana, Mickey, David, Kelli,
and four great grandchildren
Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Sunday August 21, 2005 at Lamb-Basham Memorial Chapel, burial in Montgomery Cemetery in Oakland City, IN, Dr. Douglas Low will officiate.
Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00 P.M. Saturday and from 8:00 A.M. until services on Sunday at the Chapel.
