He was born on November 2, 1960 in Washington In. to Gifford “Buck” and Louise“ White” McGowan.

He was employed at Trusses by Hobgood in Daylight, In. for 6 years. He attended First Pentecostal Church in Oakland City, IN.

He was preceded in death by his father Gifford “ Buck” Burkhart, step father Dave McGowan and step sister Helen Lamey.

Survivors include his wife of 19 years the former Cindy “Houchins Burkhart. Children: Joshua Burkhart of Princeton, IN. and Haley Burkhart of Francisco, IN. Mother: Louise McGowan of Oakland City, IN. Brothers: Gene Burkhart of Oakland City, IN, Mark Burkhart of Owensville IN, Bob McGowan of Somerville IN, and sister Nancy Runeau of Somerville, IN. Step brothers and sisters: Sandy Robison of Haubstadt, IN, Dave McGowan of Fallon Nevada, Charles McGowan of Union, IN, Cathy Sims and Virgil McGowan both of Newbern, Tennessee, Dale McGowan of Tonasket, Washington, Treecia McGowan and Faye Dorris and Tomi Su Jones all of Princeton, IN, Dean McGowan of Mackey, IN and Marlin McGowan of Ocean Springs, Mississippi .

Funeral Services will be Tuesday April 26, 11:00 A.M. at Lamb-Basham Memorial Chapel in Oakland City, IN, burial in I.O.O.F Cemetery in Francisco, IN, Bro: Pat McCandless officiating.

Visitation will be from 3:00-8:00 P.M. Monday and from 8:00 A.M. until services on Tuesday at the chapel.
