Claud Elton Sutherlin, 79, died at 10:30 pm Friday, June 23, 1989 at Community Hospital in Mesquite, Texas.

 

He was born September 3, 1909 in Russellville, Indiana and had resided in the Princeton – Mt Carmel communities for 50 years.  Sutherlin was a machinist, retired from Snap-On-Tools.  He was a member of the Eagles, Moose, VFW, and a veteran of WW II serving in the US Army. 

 

Surviving are two daughters, Susan Sewell of Mesquite and Jo Ann Messmer of Garland, Texas;  two brothers, Clyde Sutherlin of Fair Oaks, Indiana and Glen Sutherlin of Rockville, Indiana;  and four grandchildren.

 

Funeral services will be at 10 am Tuesday at Colvin Funeral Home, 425 N Main St, Princeton, with the Rev. Edward Miller Officiating.  Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery, Princeton, Ind.  There will be no visitation at the funeral home.  Military  graveside services will be conducted at the cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association.
