ELSIE OLIVE SMITH

  Elsie Smith, 100, died Saturday, Feb. 11, at the Owensville Convalescent Center.

  She was born Aug. 13, 1894, north of Owensville.  Her parents were Andrew J. and Alice A. (Fravel) Spore.

  She was a graduate of Owensville High School in the class of 1913.  She lived several years at Eldorado, Ill, where she was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church.  After her return to Owensville, following the death of her first husband in 1952, she was a member of the Owensville General Baptist Church, Philathea Class, Bethel Community Club, Cynthiana Chapter O.E.S. #445, and the Gibson County Home Economics Chorus.

  She was preceded in death by her first husband, Grover C. Woods; her second husband, Earl R. Smith; three brothers, Millard, Horace, and Orville Spore; three sisters, Minnie E. Moser, Ada A. Bingham and Nettie L. Armstrong.

  Survivors are a niece, Gladys Cunningham, Fort Branch and a nephew, Gerald L. Spore, Bloomington.

  Services were at 3 p.m. Sunday at Holder Funeral Home in Owensville.  Burial was in the Columbia White Church Cemetery near Princeton.  Rev. Bob Douglas officiated.

  Visitation was from noon until the service time Sunday.
