Martha ‘Mart’ R. Elliott, 77, died at 6 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 29, 1992, at Gibson General Hospital in Princeton, Indiana.

She was born April 4, 1915 in Gibson County (to John and Sarah Elsfelder Hunt) and lived in Patoka for the last seven years after moving from the Columbia (White Church) community.  Mrs. Elliott was a housewife.

Surviving are the husband, Clarence ‘Joe’ Elliott of Patoka; two sons, Harold Elliott of Lockport, Ill., and Robert Joe Elliott of Haubstadt; five daughters, Janet Douglas, Sandra Elliott and Linda Barrett, all of Patoka, Mary Tingler of Pahrump, Nev., and Donna White of Haubstadt; 14 grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren; three sisters, Elizabeth Boyle of Muncie, Ind., Joan Weist of Carrollton, Ky., and Paula ‘Polly’ Wood of Lemont, Ill.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Colvin Funeral Home, 425 N. Main St., Princeton, with Pastor Joe Wilson officiating. Burial will be in White Church Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 until 8 p.m. today.

HUNT-ELLIOTT

The marriage of Miss Martha Hunt, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Hunt, of Princeton, and Clarence Elliott, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Elliott of Patoka occurred in Mt. Carmel, Ill., Jan. 4th by the Rev. Erney.  Mrs. Elmer Elliott, Charles Elliott, and Miss Dorothy Hunt witnessed the ceremony.

The happy couple are residing with the groom’s parents in Patoka.

Additional Note:  Except for spending winters in Florida 1971 thru 1988, Martha lived her entire life in Gibson county.
