HAZLETON, Ind. -- Gordon
Cunningham Elliott, 73, died at 8:06 a.m. Thursday at his home. He had owned and operated Elliott's Grocery
& Hardware Store in Hazleton for 17 years.
He was a former employee of Chrysler Corp., and had worked for Louisville Tin and Stove Co. for 20 years. He was a member of Shiloh Methodist Church, International
Order of Odd Fellows
No. 389, Hazleton Order of the Eastern Star, Gibson Masonic Lodge No. 420 F. & A. M., Hadi
Shrine and Scottish Rite, both of Evansville, and American Legion
Post 114. He was a World War II Air
Force veteran. Surviving are his wife of
49 years, the former Margaret Ann Caniff; a daughter, Cassandra
Lee Budden of Indianapolis; two sons, Gordon
'Cary'
Elliott of Georgia and James Curtner Elliott
of Tennessee; a brother,
Jerald 'Curtner'
Elliott of Oakland City; three grandchildren and two great-granddaughters; and nieces and
nephews. Arrangements are pending at
Kendall Funeral Home in Princeton. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions
may be made to the American
Cancer Society.
