Elliott
Clarence Wilshire Elliott, 86, died at 4:20 a.m. Wednesday, Feb.12, 1997, at Holiday
Manor Convalescent Center in Princeton.
He was born August 30, 1910, at
Milltown, Ind., moving to Patoka, in Gibson County with his parents at a very
young age. He lived in the White Church
Community for over fifty years. He
retired from Whirlpool Corporation January 1, 1972 and wintered in Iona
Gardens, Florida. In 1988 he sold his winter residence in Florida and his farm
in Princeton and moved to Patoka.
He was preceded in death by his
wife, Martha Hunt Elliott, in 1992; his
parents, John and Emma Slaughterback Elliot; one sister, Hazel, and three
brothers, Horace, Charles, and Lawrence.
Surviving are two sons, Harold
Elliott, of Lockport, Ill., and Robert Elliott of Haubstadt; five daughters,
Janet Douglas and Mary Tingler of Pahrump, Nev., Donna White of Haubstadt,
Linda Barrett and Sandra Elliott, both of Patoka; 14 grandchildren, 11
great-grandchildren and several step-great-grandchildren; two brothers, George
Arthur ‘Art’ Elliott of Richland, Mich., and Clyde Elliott of Dongola, Ill,;
four sisters, Minerva Davis of Hopkins, Mich., Mary Allen of Princeton, Gladys
Johnson of Battle Creek, Mich., and Alice Evans, of Kalamazoo, Mich.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m.
Saturday at Colvin Funeral Home, 425 N. Main St., Princeton, with the Rev. Mike
Marsh officiating. Burial will be in
White Church Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral
home from 3 until 7 p.m. Friday.
