Joseph H. Turnbloom

 

Joseph Harold Turnbloom died at the age of 67 at 2:05 a.m. Wednesday, June 20, 1979, in Evansville.  He was a resident of Oakland City.

 

Turnbloom was a retired miner from Old Ben I and was member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church.

 

Surviving him are his wife, Esther; six daughters; Shirley Ann Whitted, Princeton; Mary Wilkerson, Mt. Carmel; Elaine Chapman, Mt. Carmel; Jane Cotterill, Oakland City; Christine Bennett, Winslow,; and Sherry Turnbloom, Oakland City; two sons; Bernie Turnbloom, Washington, D.C.; and Pat Turnbloom, Sand Diego, Calif.; two brothers Lester and Charles Turnbloom, both of Evansville; and 20 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

 

The funeral will take place in Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church at 10:30 a.m. Friday with the Rev. Fr. Lautner officiating.  Friends may call after 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Lamb and Hedges Funeral Home where a rosary will take place at 6:30 p.m.  Burial will be in Montgomery Cemetery.
