Crash Injuries Fatal to Mrs. Eldora Garrett
OWENSVILLE,
January 30 - . Eldora Garrett, 38, succumbed Sunday night,
Both
died in the Deaconess hospital where they were rushed following the crash.
Also
injured in the crash were Frank J. Garrett, husband and father of Mrs. Garrett
and Tim, and Richard Keith, young son and brother of the two victims. Both were
less seriously injured and have recovered satisfactorily. Mr. Garrett suffered a fractured leg and
Richard Keith suffered minor head injuries.
Joan Welborn, 15, Owensville, and seriously injured in the
crash, is still confined at the hospital.
She was a passenger in the Garrett car.
Joseph
Seibert, 28, Poseyville, and Richard Mounts, 17,
Cynthiana, driver and passenger, respectively, of the other car, were painfully
injured but are reportedly recovering satisfactorily.
According
to police reports the two cars collided as the Seibert car passed another
vehicle on a hill and met the oncoming Garrett car practically head-on. State Trooper Winifred Russell stated at the
time of his investigation of the accident that the Seibert car was in the wrong
lane of traffic and apparently travelling at an
excessive rate of speed as skid marks of the car measured 147 feet, all in the
wrong lane.
Mrs.
Garrett is survived by the husband, Frank J.; two sons, Paul Wayne and Richard
Keith; three sisters, Mrs. Virgil Campbell of Owensville, Mrs. Curtis Wagner of
Danville, Ill., and Mrs. Zelman Johnson of Griffin; a brother, Lloyd of Poseyville; and the parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Garrett
of Poseyville.
Mrs.
Garrett is at the Holder funeral home pending arrangements.

Jan. 31 - Funeral services for Mrs.
Eldora Garrett, 38, who died Sunday, January
29, 1956, at Deaconess Hospital of injuries suffered in an automobile
accident January 22, 1956, will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, February 1, 1956, in Maumee General Baptist
Church by the Rev. H. W. Byer and the Rev. Alva
Willis.
