William L. Johnson, 79, died at the Church nursing home on west Broadway, at 9:30 o'clock Monday night.

He had been ill for several months and his condition became serious a week ago.

Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon at the Colvin & Son chapel with Dr. L. C. Jeffrey, pastor of the First Methodist church, officiating. Burial will be in the I.O.O.F. cemetery.

Mr. Johnson was born near Princeton April 21, 1865 and had lived in Princeton and Gibson county all of his life.

He was a retired miller, having worked for the R. P. Moore Milling company until its plant closed. He later was employed in the car department of the Southern Railway Company. He was a member of the First Methodist church and the Methodist Men's Bible class.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. L. C. Herider of Indianapolis and Mrs. Clarence Wade of Princeton; four sons, Elmer N., Roger P. and Roy Johnson of Princeton and Ellis E. Johnson of Patoka; 20 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

The body will remain at the Colvin & Son mortuary where friends may call.
