Sylvester W. Cantrell
Oakland City, July 17 -- Sylvester Winfield Cantrell, 93,one
of the best known citizens of Gibson county, died at 4 o’clock yesterday
afternoon at his home on the old Cantrell farm, four miles northwest of Oakland
City.
He had been in good health until becoming ill with pneumonia
a few days ago.
Funeral services will be held at 2
o’clock Friday afternoon at the home, northwest of Oakland City. The Rev. Grover Kreig
will conduct the service. Burial will be in the White Church Cemetery, west
of Princeton.
Surviving are three sons, Clinton, of Princeton; Loren
Cantrell, Oakland City and
John T. Cantrell, St. Louis; two
daughters, Mrs. Frank Maxam, Princeton and
Mrs. Minnie Pauley, Oakland City; 12
grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Cantrell has resided on the farm northwest of Oakland City, for
50 years.
