Obituary from Princeton, Indiana newspaper November 18, 1929

 

The death of Mrs. Eliza Rollin, widow of the late Sylvester A. Rollin occurred at 12 o’clock Sunday night (November 17, 1929) at her home, 324 West State Street, following an illness of five months.

Funeral services will be held at the home of her brother, Mr. and Mrs. E. R. Maxam, 328 West State Street, at 10:30 o’clock Tuesday morning, (November 19, 1929) in the charge of Rev. R. L. Phillips, of First M. E. Church. Interment in the Warnock Cemetery. The body will remain at the Colvin Funeral home until Tuesday morning.

Mrs. Rollin is survived by three brothers, Andrew Maxam, who resided with his sister; E. R. Maxam, this city, and Oliver Maxam, Washington, D. C.  Two sisters, Mrs. James Conzett, and Miss Emma Maxam, preceded her in death several years ago.

Mrs. Rollin, formerly Eliza A. Maxam, was born near Maxam Station, east of the city, March 25, 1846, and has spent practically her entire lifetime in and near Princeton. She was the daughter of Sylvester Robert and Mary (Herman) Maxam, pioneer settlers of Gibson County. She was a member of the Meridian Street Methodist church in Indianapolis for a number of years, later transferring her membership to the First M. E. church here.
