OBITUARY:  Copied from a clipping from the White River News.  

 

John W. Elliott, the youngest son of Jacob and Mary Rumble Elliott was born  October 14, 1869 in Gibson County, Indiana.  He was united in marriage to  Margaret Fithian Sept. 11, 1890.  He gave his life to the Lord and Master in  the year 1915 at the Methodist church at Hazleton, Ind.  He was a member of  the Woodmen of the World since Aug. 15, 1906.  On the night of May 28, 1928,  Mr. Elliott suddenly departed this life, at the age of 58 years, 7 months  and 14 days.  He had been in failing health for several months and had told  his relatives and friends that he was ready to go anytime the Lord saw fit to  call him.  He leaves, besides a widow (whose life is crushed) one son Daryl,  one brother, Joseph W. of Hazleton: two sisters, Mrs. Frank DUNN of Vincennes  and Mrs. Joseph KINMAN of Hazleton, and a host of relatives and friends to  mourn their loss.
