Mrs. Elizabeth Keith, wife of Hiram Keith, died at 10:25 o’clock Sunday night at the home of her son, William
Keith, five miles west of Princeton. She had been
ill about a week with la grippe and heart trouble. The husband was in Arkansas but is expected to
arrive tonight.
The funeral will be held Tuesday morning at 11 o’clock at Decker church north of Princeton, conducted by Rev. W.
L. McRoberts and interment will be in Decker
cemetery. Mrs. Elizabeth Keith was born February 15, 1848. On June 25, 1867, she was united in marriage to Hiram Wilson
Keith, who survives together with 6 children. William, Thomas, and Miss Nannie living west of Princeton;
Mrs. Oscar Whiting of this city; Mrs. Nettie
Backmeyer of Madison, Ill; and John of Arkansas. Three children
are deceased. There is one brother, Henry Phillips of Washington Township and 3 sisters; Mrs. John Sloan of Princeton; Mrs. Christina
Hays, north of Princeton; and Mrs. Theodore Boswell of Madison, Ill.
Mrs. Keith was a most estimable woman and her death is learned of
with sorrow by a large circle of friends who extend their sympathy to the
sorrow stricken loved ones.
