LAST RITES HELD
Body of Alva Eaton is Laid to Rest in Odd Fellows
Cemetery
The funeral
of Alva Eaton, whose death occurred Monday June 16, 1913 in
Evansville, was held at noon today, Saturday June 21, 1913, at the home of his uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Elias
Lambert, in east Spruce street, conducted by Rev. Dr. C.
C. Edwards, of the First M. E. Church. The service was to have been held at
10:30, but the train bringing the body from Evansville arrived late. Many
friends and former army comrades attended the services, and the pall bearers
were members of the Ben Hur lodge and of Co. K, 159th Indiana
Regiment, of which the deceased was a lieutenant. The body was laid to rest in
Odd Fellows cemetery with the Ben Hur ritualistic service.
