THOMAS W. MASSEY, SR.

Thomas W. Massey, Sr., a well-known old citizen of Gibson County, died Thursday at the home of his daughter Mrs. Mary Bell in Mt. Carmel. He was 76 and leaves a widow, three sons and four daughters.

(Notes: His headstone at Owensville I.O.O.F. cemetery evidently was carved with incorrect dates (1837-1912). In addition to the above obituary, the Gibson County Health Department’s Death records report. The date of birth would have been about 1832; this date also agrees with the 1880 and 1900 census records. The 1900 census reports his birth as Aug 1831.)
