Abner Forbis
DIED, -- Sept. 28,
1878, Abner Forbis, in the 47th year of his age. Mr. Forbis was
received into the communion of the United Presbyterian Church, In January last.
He received the sacrament of baptism, and at the same time participated in the
Lord’s Supper for the first and last time. Before the return of another
communion occasion, he was prostrated with sickness. Although confined to his
bed about five months, he endured his affliction with Christian patience and
cheerfulness. He loved the house of God and was seldom absent. In the fire of
affliction and to the end of life, he has given testimony that he had “fought
the good fight, finished his course and kept the faith.”
