Bruce L. Vore, 79, of Evansville, passed away peacefully at home after a long battle with cancer on Friday, Dec. 17, 2010.  

He was born Aug. 5, 1931, in Gibson County.

Bruce was a U.S. Army veteran serving in the Korean War.  He was employed at Whirlpool Corp. for 18 years and retired from Amax Coal Co.  Bruce was an active member of Princeton VFW Post 1147.  He was a member of the Evansville Masonic Lodge 64 and was a Hadi Shriner.  

 He enjoyed gardening upon retirement.

He is survived by his daughters, Glenna Miller (Virgil); Beverly Wade (Butch); sons, Ronnie Vore (Kim), Terry Vore (Sandy); brothers, Max Vore (Kay), Harold Vore; sisters, Donna Kay (John), Bonnie Barrett (Don),Vi Byrns; brothers-in-law, Jim Reneer (Pat); Jerry Reneer (Wanda); grandchildren, Stephanie Corsmeier (Rob), Brett and Braddley Wade, Jolene Hugo, Kyle Bright, Vanessa Vore;  great-grandchildren, Kayla Corsmeier, Addison Wade and Jaiden (due in January); his companion/dog, Rowdy; and numerous nieces and nephews that were very close to him;

He was preceded in death by his wife, Alene Vore in 1999; and parents, Glen and Florence Vore.

 Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2010, at Alexander North Chapel in Evansville with the Rev. Larry Meadows officiating. Entombment will be at Alexander Memorial Park in Evansville.  

Visitation will be 3-8 p.m. Monday and 10 a.m. until the service hour Tuesday at the funeral home.
