Richard Braun, 76, of Princeton, passed away Monday, Dec. 20, 2010 at the Select Specialty Hospital in Evansville.

Born Feb. 17, 1934 in Otwell, he was the son of Christian and Ocie (Powers) Braun.

He served in the U.S. Army and was a switchman with Southern Railways and was a member of the Oasis Assembly of God Church of Princeton. On Feb. 16, 1957 in Francisco, he was married to Mildred Meier. 

Survivors include hia wife, Milly Braun of Princeton; sons, Kerry Braun (Patti Simpson) of Hazelton, Greg (Tanna) Braun of Ridgway, Ill.; brother, Russell (Sherry) Braun of Petersburg; sisters, Margaret Gordon of Ocala, Fla., Mary Braun of Lancaster, Pa., Myra (Wayne) Traylor of Otwell;   grandchildren, Elza, Elliott, Erin, Andy, Kylena and Kara; eight great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. 

He is preceded in death by his parents; a son, Dennis Braun; brothers, Roy and Ronald Braun; sisters, Martha Sue and Madonna Bush. 

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 23, 2010 at Doyle Funeral Home, 520 S. Main St. in Princeton with Pastor Mike Marsh officiating.  Burial will be in Columbia White Church Cemetery. V.F.W. Post 1147 will perform military rites. 

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 22, 2010.
