Dorothy M. Beach, 88 of Louisville Ky., formerly of Princeton, passed away Friday Dec. 24, 2010 at Baptist East Hospital in Louisville.
She was born Oct. 22, 1922 in Anderson to Lee and Hazel (Stites) Christie.
She lived most of her childhood in Indianapolis. She spent most of her married life in Mt. Vernon and Princeton where she devoted her time to raising a
family. In recent years she was living in the Louisville area. She was often the center of family gatherings
and those who knew her valued her warmth and kindness. She was a loving mother
and will be greatly missed.
She enjoyed knitting and was an
accomplished bowler. She worked for many years in the admitting office of
Gibson General Hospital in Princeton. She was a former member of the First Presbyterian
Church in Princeton and a member of the Red Hat Society in Louisville.
She is survived by her five children,
James (Kimberly) Beach, of Crestwood Ky., Beverly (Robert) Setree,
of Jeffersonville, Rex (Vicki) Beach, of Princeton, Jody (Jan) Beach, and Cheryl Amador, of Lafayette; 16 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her
parents; her husband of 40 years, Alvin C. Beach in 1986; an infant daughter; a
brother; and a sister.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday Dec. 30, 2010 at Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton with Pastor Louie Pantelis officiating.
Burial will follow in the Oddfellows Cemetery in Princeton.
Visitation will be from noon until the service hour Thursday at the funeral home.
