Donald E. “Bud” Newton, 80, of Princeton, passed away Friday, Nov. 26, 2010 at home.
He was born Oct. 5, 1930 in Princeton to Roy and Fern Newton.
He was a 1948 graduate of Princeton High School and attended Purdue University. He served in the Indiana National Guard and
the United States Air Force. He was a member of the United Presbyterian
Church in Princeton where he served as a former deacon and Sunday school
teacher. He was also a member of Prince Masonic Lodge No. 231 in Princeton. He retired from Whirlpool Corp.
He is survived by sons, Mark (Lisa)
Newton of Newburgh, Robert (Sabrina) Newton of Fort Branch, Brian Newton of Evansville; two sisters, Marilyn Dearing of Fort Branch, Frieda Smith of Princeton; five grandchildren, Kyle, Breanna and
Matthew Newton, Katie Newton and Amanda Lambert; and several nieces and
nephews.
He was preceded in death by his
parents; wives, Dorothy (Whitten) Newton and Florence (Carithers) Newton; sisters, Jean Clearwater, Ruth Blaize,
Alice Gwaltney; and a brother, Kenneth Newton.
Funeral services will be at 1 pm Tuesday, Nov. 30, 2010 at Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton, with the Rev. Barry Wynveen
officiating. Burial will be at Columbia White Church Cemetery in Princeton. VFW Post 1147 will provide full military rites at
the cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Monday at Colvin Funeral Home, where Prince Masonic
Lodge No. 231 will conduct a Masonic memorial service at 7 pm.
