Floyd “Bud” Farris, 90, of Oakland City,
passed away Wednesday, Nov. 3, 2010 at Good Samaritan Nursing Home.
Born May 12, 1920 in Oakland City,
he was the son of John Otis Farris and Delilah Jane (Kinder) Farris.
He served in World War II in the Asiatic – Pacific
Theater. When he returned home, he worked as a barber in Oakland City.
Survivors include two sons, Mike Farris of Dixon, Ky., John Farris of Beverly Hills, Fla.; a daughter, Kathy Wood of Oakland City;
two sisters, Isabelle Hedges and Genavee Clark of Oakland City;
three grandchildren; and four great- grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a
sister, Isabelle; and wife, Opal Fern Farris in 2003.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 9, at Lamb-Basham Memorial Chapel in Oakland City
with the Rev. John Brumfiel officiating. Burial will
be in Montgomery Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Monday at the chapel.
