Ellen L. Ross, 86, of Stendal, passed away Monday, Sept. 20, 2010 at Amber Manor Care Center in Petersburg.

Born Aug. 15, 1924 in Lynnville, she was the daughter of Harley McKinney and Grace (Gentry) McKinney Barrett and stepfather Charles Barrett.

She worked at Good Samaritan Nursing Home, Pike County Solid Waste and PCARC. She attended Cup Creek General Baptist Church.

Survivors include a son, Bill (Diana) Ross of Petersburg; foster sons, Jerry and Larry McKannon of Francisco; granddaughter, Rachel (Eric) Rutherford of Clarksville; great-grandchildren, Kate, Jill and Caleb Rutherford.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Edwin Ross; children, Michael, Charles and Rhoda Ross. 

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. (eastern) Thursday, Sept. 23, 2010 Lamb-Basham Memorial Chapel in Oakland City with the Rev. Rich Russell officiating. Burial will be in Barrett Cemetery near Stendal.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. (eastern) Wednesday at the chapel.
