Cosby Ray Holmes Jr., 55 of Princeton, passed away Sunday, Sept. 26, 2010 at the VNA Charlier Hospice Center in Evansville.

Born Jan. 30, 1955 in Henderson, Ky., he was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Cosby Holmes Sr.

He was a mine examiner with Gibson County Coal Co. On May 1, 2000, he married Mary Joan Porter in Morganfield, Ky. He was a member of the UMWA.  

Survivors include his wife, Joan of Princeton; son, Cosby (Jessica) Holmes of Evansville, a daughter, Carla (Brian ) Walters of Henderson County, Ky.;  sisters, Mona Cuz, Pat Gaskins and Sandy Pressley all of Henderson, Ky.; and three grandchildren. 

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 30, 2010 at Doyle Funeral Home, 520 S. Main St. in Princeton, with Pastor Daniel Payton officiating. Burial will be at Columbia White Church Cemetery in Princeton.

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 29, 2010 and on 10 a.m. until the service hour on Thursday at the funeral home.
