Henry S. Wassmer, 61, of Cynthiana, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 24, 2010 at Deaconess Hospice Care Center in Evansville.

Born July 27, 1949, he was the son of Andrew and Bertha (Pfieffer) Wassmer. He was a 1967 graduate of Mater Dei High School and was a member of St. Wendel Catholic Church, the Knights of St. John and was a salesman for Nix Bus Sales in for 37 years. He served in the Army reserve.

Survivors include two daughters, Tamara (Brian) Reinhart of Streamwood, Ill.,  Cheryl Davis of Poseyville; twin sister, Henrietta (Larry) Hughes of Haubstadt; two brothers, Marcus (Kay) Wassmer of Fort Branch, Joseph (Sherri) Wassmer of Mt. Vernon; his daughters’ mother, Rita Wassmer of Poseyville; two sisters-in-law, Betty Wassmer of Evansville, Diane Wassmer of Haubstadt; a brother-in-law, Don Roberts of Fort Branch; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Andrew C. and Paul Wassmer; a sister, Mary Roberts; one nephew; and one son-in-law.

 Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Werry Funeral Home, Poseyville Chapel, with Father Ed Schnur officiating. Burial will be in St. Wendel Catholic Church cemetery. 

Visitation will be 3-7 p.m., Friday at the funeral home.
