Betty C. Smith, 85, of Princeton, went to be with the Lord on July 31, 2010 at the River Oaks Health Campus in Princeton.

Born April 28, 1925 in Sullivan, she was the daughter of Eugene and Irene (Menter) Chambers.

She was a registered nurse and homemaker for many years working at the former Holiday Manor Nursing facility of Princeton.  She was married to Robert J. Smith Jr. who resides in Terre Haute.  She was a member of the Tri Kappa Sorority of Indiana.

Survivors include sons, Robert J. (Cynthia) Smith, Jeffers (LeAnn) Smith, Eric L. (Debbie) Smith, Tim A. (Vicki) Smith, all of Princeton, Jack R. Smith of Fort Branch; daughter, Karen A. Armstrong of Princeton; brother, Jack (Sue) Chambers of Sullivan; sisters, Shirley Wilson of Newport Richie, Fla., Barbara (Bob) Dougan of Phoenix, Ariz.; 16 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, son, Henry P. Smith; and daughter, Cynthia J. Smith.  

Memorial services were at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 4, 2010 at Doyle Funeral Home, 520 S. Main St. Princeton, 47670.  Burial will be at a private family service at a later date.
