Otto Glenn Hamer,
91, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 17, 2010, at Westview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Born June 11, 1919 in Princeton, he was the son of Otto George and Bessie LaNell (Gilley) Hamer.
He married Loetta
Myrtle Long on Feb. 18, 1940. He was a retired special inspector for the New York
Central Railroad and was a mechanic.
Survivors include his
wife, Loetta Hamer
of Mitchell; son, Glenn (Linda) Hamer of Mitchell;
son-in-law, Barry Clark; four grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren;
nine great great-grandchildren; and four step great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents;
daughter, Barbara Jean Clark; and brothers, Charles and Donald Hamer.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral
Home with the Rev. Glenn Hamer officiating.
Burial will be in Hamer Cemetery with military honors conducted by by Cecil C.
Martin American Legion Post 250 and Marvin R. Davis Veterans of Foreign Wars
Post No. 9107.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Thursday and 11 a.m. until the service hour on on Thursday at
the funeral home.
